    MTS Cell Proliferation Assay

    MTS CELL PROLIFERATION ASSAY was performed by Yeditepe University Department of Genetics and Bioengineering. Rat bone marrow stem cell culture was performed for 3 days on the implants which were sent to our laboratory by Mode Medikal San. Tic. Ltd. Sti.

    In MTS Cell Proliferation Assay, sand blasted surface of implants which were manufactured by Mode Medikal  were performed cell proliferation for 23.3% more compared to untreated polished titanium surface.

  • DYNAMIC FATIGUE TEST FOR ENDOSSEOUS DENTAL IMPLANTS

    Dynamic fatigue test for endosseous dental implants

    Dynamic Fatigue Test for Endosseous Dental Implants was performed in the labarotory of TOBB University of Economics and Technology which has ISO 14801 standards.

    By Dynamic Fatigue Test, it was reported that implants are not deformed at 360N load. 

    According to test results, specimens were survived under 360 N force and 3,6 Nm bending moment at pre-declared loading conditions.

  • TORSION TEST OF IMPLANT / BODY CONNECTION

    Torsion Test of Implant / Body Connection

    ISO/TS 13498:2011 establishes a method to determine the torsional yield strength and maximum torque of the implant body/connecting part joints of endosseous dental implant systems. This test is most appropriate for evaluating new types of joints and connecting parts, as well as new materials.

    Torsion Test of Implant/Body Connecting Part Joints of Endosseous Dental Implant System was made by TOBB University of Economics and Technology. According to the test report, it has been observed that the implants haven’t changed their shapes up to 119,8 Ncm load.

    Importance of Measurement Parameters for the Dental Implant Surface Characterization

    There are many dierent surface modication techniques like sand blasting, acid etching, or coating with various materials. Surface characterization is as important as surface modication for dental implants. Although many researchers studied about measurement of surface characteristics of dental implants with similar techniques but with dierent measurement parameters, there is still no consensus about the optimal surface characteristics values of a successful dental implant. Among many other surface characteristics, surface roughness is one of the
    most important features for dental implants.

    TUBITAK THE SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH COUNCIL OF TURKEY

    Tubitak R&D project for “Development of dental implants with increased osseointegration effect by influencing of calcium phosphate on the surface through the method of surface etching and electrolysis application” was successfully completed.
    Homogeneous surface structure was developed by applying optimum calcium and phosphate ions on the surface which accelerate osseointegration process.

    Comparison of Implant – Abutment Breaking Values

    Comparison of Implant – Abutment Breaking Values. T.C. Yeditepe University  Health  Sciences  Institute  Prosthetic  Dentistry,  Istanbul,  2014. 

    This subject’s aim is to see the breaking values of the implants and abutments and compare them. Totally 40 implants, abutmetns and screws are divided into 4 different groups. ISO14801 standard is used and implants are placed with 30 degree angle to transition piece. 25N torque moment is calibrated by using the company’s implant devices. Instron Universal test machine applied an increasing force until the breaking happens with the speed of 8mm per second.  This process is applied to 40 implants one by one. Breaking values and breaking spotsa resaved. Datas are statistically evaluated by using student test and oneway anova test. Wide platform  diameter  abutments mean breaking value (1753 N) is higher than Regular platform diameter abutments (1685 N).  Keywords: Dental implant, abutment fracture, ISO 14801.
